Originally made at the Royal Military Clothing Factory - they produced textiles and cloth for the Danish Army, Navy and the Guard hussars. The horse rug was designed for the purpose of use for clothing for the horses in the army.
The original colour is Red/Blue. Later, Blue/Blue, Brown/Brown and Green/Blue textiles were introduced. Finally, a plain horse rug fabric was added to the collection of horse rug textiles.
In the 1970s, the horse rug was adapted for use as furniture textiles. This famous horse rug became a huge export success as the main fabric on many Danish design furniture.
In 1995, Danish Art Weaving took over the production. Since then, we have produced and sold the original horse rug textile worldwide.
