Bogesunds Väveri in Sweden is known for their adherence to solid weaving traditions and for supplementing them with innovations in both design and choice of materials.
The spearhead of design in Bogesund’s catalogue is the ‘Artist Collection’ – a collection of textiles created by the young Swedish visual artist Matthias van Arkel. Through a combination of artistic vision and modern weaving techniques, Arkel created a wholly unique and barrier-breaking textile expression in jacquard-woven wool and polyamide.
Bogesunds often use wool, woolen bouclé and Trevira SC yarns with a very high resistance to light and fire-reducing qualities. The enterprise is one of the few remaining Swedish textile businesses with its own weaving mill.
